Database contents

Hi all!

I just started to use Seafile (I literally deployed it a hour ago in my Kubernetes cluster) as I am looking to migrate from Nextcloud due to NC’s poor performance.

I have synced around 24GB already so it looks like the speed is much better than with Nextcloud. One thing I noticed that looked weird to me was that when I checked backups of the databases, they look really small with little data, despite I’ve synced 10s of thousands of files already.

Doesn’t Seafile store metadata about the files in the databases?

Thanks in advance for any clarification.

File contents and metadata are stored in special format under seafile-data folder or objects storage if you use S3/Ceph.
