Find current version number of seafile server

I’m sorry to ask such a silly question. How can I find the current version number of the deployed Seafile community edition server (on Debian)? The UI doesnt seem to show it. And neither does my directory structure. I’m trying to determine if I need to update.

In the left-bottom corner of web interface, there is a link “about”. Click on it will tell you the version.

https://seacloud.cc/api2/server-info

Replace seacloud.cc with your server address.

this should go into the manual somewhere, not just into the api doc.

And if someone else wants to get the current Seafile version and maybe the web interface doesn’t work anymore, it would also be possible by establishing an SSH connection to the server, changing to the Seafile directory and then ls -la to see which target the link seafile-server-latest has.

I use: file /srv/seafile/seafile-server-latest | awk '{print $5}' | cut -d'-' -f 3
(because I love to automate!)
