How to upgrade 9.0.5 to 9.0.8

Hello,

How can i upgrade Seafile from 9.0.5 to 9.0.8 ? Seafile is installed on Ubuntu 20.04.

Thank you.

Assuming you have a full backup of the 9.0.5 server you could shotgun it and run the 9.0.8 update directly as-is. Frankly, I would not trust it. I would download the individual updaters and run each individually, testing each step along the way. Consult this forum for individual tweaks and prerequisites relative to each update.

You can view available updates here.

By the way, is this a CE or Pro server?

thanks @mercury
If i understand correctly, just download the latest release, and overwrite the existing folder with same config file, then run upgrade script, correct?

I am using CE.

Hi, don’t overwrite the existing folder, just put it next to the old one.

You can find here the directory layout you should have before updating, then the process for maintenance updates is a little further down on the same page (or here).

I agree with @Barolo. Don’t overwrite the existing installation. Follow the upgrade instructions in the Seafile Manual. I think you will apply the minor upgrade script since you’re not jumping very far.

Don’t forget to do a full backup first. It’s always a good idea.
