Since version 8 you are already in edit mode in the wiki as soon as you click on a wiki page. Before version 8, the Edit button at the top had to be clicked first.
Testing with an administrator that has read only access to the wiki library the page is also in edit mode it it is clicked. I don’t have tested with a normal user yet.
