Seafile Drive client is ready for testing!

Could you find some errors in the log files under C:\users\username\seadrive\logs ?

Which version of the Pro server is supported? The latest available version is seadrive-pro-server_5.1.11. Will the SeaDrive client work with it?

You need a 6.0.0+ server as stated in the initial post. So for now only the 6.0 pro beta will work with the Seafile Drive client.

The 5.1.11 is not officially supported but can already be used. But not all features may be available or work as expected.

OK, thanks. Then, for our production environment, I will wait, until everything is officially supported.

just after i upgraded to 0,20 version, ~20 folder named “MSI****.tmp” appeard…

Hi

I also have those strange libraries (MSI<random number + letters>.tmp), which are created by the Seafile Drive Client on my laptop.

Server: 6.0.3 @ Ubuntu 14.04
Client: Windows 8.1 / Seafile Client 5.1.3 / Seafile Drive Client 0.2

As those filenames seem to be Windows installer temp files/folders … maybe the enviroment variable (TEMP, TMP) for the system temp folder is not set correct (%systemroot%\TEMP) or, the drive clients changes it ?

regards
Michael

yes I have loads of them as well, and I can’t delete them.

Wow… this works amazingly well for a pre-release.
I have one question, I have 10 libraries, but for some reason seadrive shows 25 folders (some subfolders of the top level libraries)

It’s not a big deal but for us that like their files organized it’s really annoying.
It should show only top level libraries, not sublibraries or anything like that.

Also it would be cool if we could pick just one library as a drive instead of the whole account.

Another thing, it would be good to be able to pick a different folder for the local cache, and a storage limit.

Having some timeouts with a program that uses fopen directly:

Works fine for smaller files though…

Will this file be randomly read? The client takes some time to cache a large file. If you read in the middle of a large file, the data at the offset is still downloading so there could be a timeout. After some time, when caching is finished, read should succeed.

I am getting:

KB3033929 does not install on this system
Windows 7 Pro (Xen VM)

You need to install one of windows update. Check Seafile Drive client is ready for testing! . We’ll improve the installer to provide a more user friendly message for this error in the future.

This occurs without user intervention.
Create library.
Time 11:56 System Volume Information
Time 11:55 - 12:00 MSIffXXX.tmp
The operating system creates, but can not remove these directories, as I understand it.
What could be the solutions to the problem?
The disk must be visible only to the user!

That is really annoying. Everytime something (like windows) create a file in the root of Seadrive, a Library is created, but it is not possible to delete a Library from the Seadrive client, so you end up having dozens of new Librarys.

I hope the Seafile Team find a way around this issue. Seadrive is a really cool feature.

edit: oh, there is already a new version 0.3 that fixed that issue.

For my purpose it would be great to assign a different drive letter for each account.
The account/server could then be indicated in the description for the drive, instead of “Seadrive” (e.g. “Seadrive - seafile.example.net (S:)”).

Btw, is there any, more structured, place to discuss issues/feature requests concerning SeaDrive than this comment section?

In 0.3 version you can already choose a driver letter.

For issues, you can create a new post in the forum for each issue.

Yes, I can choose a letter, but not one for each account. Plus, I didn’t find a way to change the letter once I assigned it.
