Seafile Plus Pricing?

I see SeafilePlus has been launched in beta on the website. Congrats btw, I think it’s the right move as the 3 Seafile Hosting Partners aren’t very good at keeping up to date on the latest releases.

Have a few questions;

  1. Planned pricing?
  2. Server/data location? Hopefully somewhere with strong data privacy laws and no NSA?
  3. Does Beta mean: “We haven’t tweaked optimally yet”, or “Don’t hold your personal data on here because we’re going to continuously blow up this instance.”

Thanks for your interesting in SeafilePlus cloud.

The goal of SeafilePlus cloud is to show the new features in Seafile and also to receive first hand feedbacks from end users.

The planned pricing is 8USD/user/month starting at 3 users, with 500GB storage.

The data is stored in a Switzerland datacenter.

Beta means the cloud service are not ready for production use yet, but the data will be stored safely. We use it daily to host Seafile Wiki and distribute Seafile binary packages.

Hi,

Considering the free version is only for 30 days, and the paid version has a minimum of theee users, the price is effectively $24 a month for individual users.

I suspect I understand why this is because overhead of managing individual users is not worth the effort (due to individuals being tech illiterate and/or admin volume).

Would you consider a personal use tier for $10 a month that does not provide the same level of support? For example; mailbox.org has a “lite” pricing tier that only provides direct email support for password issues, all other support is through user forums. Or the personal use tier that requires extra paid support per hour, etc.

Thanks for the suggestion. Currently we are focusing on releasing Seafile 13.0.

Later, we will work on improve the subscription plans for SeafilePlus. A personal use tier for $10 a month is a good candidate.

We now offer a team basic plan for single user, with 10USD/month and 250GB storage. It is in testing phase, and not public available yet.

To book such a plan, please register a team account in SeafilePlus and then send us your team ID in team admin pane to sales@seafile.com
