Seafile-server-installer fails because "xxx is not a valid name"

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to install Seafile on a VPS running Ubuntu 16.04, using the seafile-server-installer script (https://github.com/haiwen/seafile-server-installer), without success. The installation fails because “12345.s.t4vps.e is not a valid name”. My VPS’s hostname is 12345.s.t4vps.eu, so the installation script is clearly trying to use that for Seafile’s server name, but because this parameter can be 15 characters at most, it only uses 12345.s.t4vps.e. Also, only letters and numbers are allowed for the server name, which is probably why the script doesn’t accept it. My question is, is there a way to set a specific server name (for example, 12345) in the installation script?

Thanks in advance.
Nicola

Which version are you trying to install? It should be fixed in the latest version (6.0.7).

6.0.2.

I tried to install Seafile 6.0.2 with the script for Debian and that worked without a problem.
