Strange logs every 30 seconds

In the logs I can see a lot of request to “GET /api/v2.1/notifications/?_=1498458620283” every 30 seconds, with the number 1498458620283 increasing of 1 each time.

Have someone an idea of the reason ?

If I access the address, it shows “unseen_count”: 0.
In the logs I can see that the URL is accessed through Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:54.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/54.0"), could it be some bug in the web interface requesting too many refresh of the unread messages ?

It is polling for new notifications every 30 seconds. This is no bug but intended behaviour.

Thanks for the answer. I’ll have to find a way to disable the logging then.

In case your using nginx you could add access_log off; to completely disable access logging. You an also give a path instead of off if you want to log at another location.

Indeed I am using nginx. I got rid of the logs by using:

map $request_uri $loggable {
   ~^/api/v\d\.\d/notifications/\?_=\d* 0;
   default 1;

access_log      /var/log/nginx/seahub.access.log combined if=$loggable;
