Trying Seafile again

#1

I am trying Seafile again since I need something to sync multiple files across three systems. The problem is I constantly get “Failed to index files” errors and it’s driving me nuts. I was told that this could happen with large datasets or large files in general but my file is 482kb.

Can someone please help me figure this out, I have the Seafile Docker running on my Linux server, 2 Linux machines, and a Windows 10 machine. The windows machine doesn’t give me as much trouble as the Linux boxes but I have tried Fedora, Arch, OpenSUSE, and Mint and all give me the same error.

#2

Can you please post the logs of your clients?

I would love to post my log files but apparently, you can only post images and the log is way too long.
I think this is the problem portion of the log:

When you installed the client and it asked to where to store it’s working data like database, probably you choose the same path as you choose for the library to sync?

please check for the directory, either files or directory seem to not exist

#5

The path for the database is separate from the library. The school folder I deleted but its not my synced library. When I delete it I get that error, not sure why. Everything seems to be working fine on Linux now but Windows doesn’t seem to sync automatically, shouldn’t it sync if I update or change a file?

#6

Did you set intervals?

#7

That’s not what the logs are showing.

I would recommend starting over. Blow your server away, delete your clients, and reinstall your server and ONE client, then make sure it works.

Consider using the docker image for your server, that way you know you are starting with a good config: https://github.com/haiwen/seafile-docker

#8

I am using the docker image on unRaid. The config and database files are stored on an SSD, appdata/Seafile/. The library is stored on the array Seafile/. Everything seems to be working fine after I fixed one of the folder names.
I will be reconfiguring the server so that MariaDB is where the database is stored but other than that everything seems to be syncing fine across all clients.
Thanks for the help.
