Seafile-gui installed as described in manual.
After initial Start everything seeme to be ok.
Downloading a library leads into segment dump.
App closes.

In userdir/.ccnet is no key and ccnet.conf generated.
There is only logs folder and seafile.ini

Seafile stopped working for me on Ubuntu 18.04.3 after the latest update:

->dpkg --list | grep -i seafile
ii libseafile0 7.0.3-2~1340~ubuntu18.04.1 amd64 Shared libraries for Seafile
ii libsearpc1 3.1.0-2~143~ubuntu18.04.1 amd64 SeaRPC library for Seafile client
ii  seafile-daemon                                7.0.3-2~1340~ubuntu18.04.1                     amd64        Seafile daemon
ii  seafile-gui                                   7.0.2-2~1548~ubuntu18.04.1                     amd64        Seafile desktop client.

Only libseafile0 and seafile-daemon were updated to 7.0.3. Seems like a broken repository to me!

Please fix!

Very same issue after latest update

$ seafile-applet
lang = English, translation = (null), locale.name() = en_US

For Workarround:
disable PPA
remove seafile client
download deb by hand
install deb’s

dpkg -l | grep seafile (2019-10-25 14:56:23)

ii libseafile0 7.0.2-2~1323~ubuntu18.04.1 amd64 Shared libraries for Seafile
ii seafile-daemon 7.0.2-2~1323~ubuntu18.04.1 amd64 Seafile daemon
ii seafile-gui 7.0.2-2~1548~ubuntu18.04.1 amd64 Seafile desktop client.

download from PPA: http://ppa.launchpad.net/seafile/seafile-client/ubuntu/pool/main/s/

@cat1510 Thank you for the pointer! I took seafile-gui_7.0.3-2~1556~ubuntu19.04.1.tar.xz from the repository and build my own package:

->dpkg --list | grep seafile
ii  libseafile-dev                                7.0.3-2~1340~ubuntu18.04.1                     amd64        Development files for package libseafile0.
ii libseafile0 7.0.3-2~1340~ubuntu18.04.1 amd64 Shared libraries for Seafile
ii  seafile-daemon                                7.0.3-2~1340~ubuntu18.04.1                     amd64        Seafile daemon
ii  seafile-gui                                   7.0.3-2~1556~ubuntu19.04.1                     amd64        Seafile desktop client.

Now the gui is working again for me.

I’m experiencing the same issue for ubuntu 19.04 and 19.10 - reverting libseafile0 and seafile-daemon back to 7.0.2-2 solves the problem.

Same problem here in 18.04. I disabled the ppa and returned to bionic default client. Now it works again.

Same here on 18.04.

Seems to be fixed with the latest update:

ii libseafile0 7.0.3-2~1345~ubuntu18.04.1 amd64 Shared libraries for Seafile
ii libsearpc1 3.1.0-2~143~ubuntu18.04.1 amd64 SeaRPC library for Seafile client
