Will not running the garbage collector slow down the server over time?

Hi all,

I have my seafile-data on an rclone mount that points to a b2 bucket. I noticed that the garbage collector takes a very long time ~12 hours for about 130 GB of data and it uses a lot of class c transactions which are somewhat expensive. So I was wondering if there are any downsides to not running the garbage collector other than increased storage requirements? As storage is cheap, I don’t really care about it, but I do not want the server to slow down at some point.

Only consequence is that no storage will be freed.
