Hunan Normal University user. I’ve used almost all collaboration systems since the very earliest ones in the 1970s (EIES, PLATO Notes, Ward & Randy’s BBS, etc.). I guess I have a kind of sixth sense for usability, where I can see pretty quickly what’s going wrong and why from a developer side and the user side at once.

I use Seafile almost like a Blackboard, Slack, Notion, or Teams system for my courses. This is because it is simple, locally managed by my school, can sync to the desktop, and developers are reachable. Seafile + ONLYOFFICE has many issues, but their small scale development puts us much closer to developer staff and after-sales support people, and this makes users feel much more comfortable than with other systems, such as with Teams or Office 365 or other cloud services.
