Android - shared with Starred

Sending a file to the Seadrive client on android via the “share with” function
Needs manual dig trough folders and libs, would be great to offer “Starred” right in the “choose a library” dialog

And when we are at it, auto skip “choose an account” dialog if only one account is present (which will probably 99.998% of users)

Thanks for reporting the requests. We will add the feature in the next release.

hey cool, thanks

The feature is added in version 4.0.1. Please give it a test once it is ready on Google Play Store.

Iam on 4.0.2

I can see that now at least the account selection is no more, thats helps a bit, that is great.

But we still have no favorites when sending directly.

Also possible bug: IN Graphene OS (Build 2026032000) using the System “Files” App
it wont load any Dialog, after marking a file and share to Seafile, i see the Seafile screen with a stuck 0% Progress bar.

It does however work with a 3rd Party Filemanager like FX

This issue appears to be a known bug currently being tracked by the Seafile development team.

Based on recent reports, this exact behavior—a blank screen with a progress bar stuck at 0% when using the “share to” function—has been identified in Seafile Android version 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, particularly on newer Android versions (like Android 15) or specific distributions like Graphene OS.

Here is the current status of this issue:

  • GitHub Issue: This is being tracked as Seadroid Issue #1119 GitHub issue page, titled “sharing a file to seafile does not work”.
  • Scope: The bug primarily affects the Android “Share” intent from the system “Files” app. As you noted, some 3rd party file managers (like FX) may work as a temporary workaround, while the native system picker fails to trigger the upload dialog correctly.

We wil give it a check.

v4.0.2 has already been released on Github-Releases, can upgrade to this version and try again

as i said, i was already on 4.0.2 via github

edit: ahh you have rereleased it under the same version number.

yes now share as also works via system filemanager on graphene os.

still no favourites in share as

The favourites feature will be implemented in the next release.

Great, thanks

not having the account dialog is also already a win, no doubt
