Сan't install SeaDrive 3.0.22 on Windows Server 2025

I can’t install SeaDrive on the Windows server 2025. During installation, a message appears that this product can only be installed on Windows 10 1709 or higher.
Before that, version 3.0.21 was installed and worked fine. It is also not possible to roll back, a message appears that a more up-to-date version of SeaDrive is detected on the system.

Hello @Aleksandr ,

The issue with installing the newer SeaDrive version on Windows Server 2025 occurs because the installer’s OS version check fails to properly recognize the newly released Server 2025 as meeting the “Windows 10 1709 or higher” requirement.

Regarding the inability to roll back to version 3.0.21, the failed or interrupted installation of the newer version left behind residual registry keys or cached package files. This tricks Windows into thinking the newer version is currently installed on the system, which blocks older installers.

To fix the issue, you need to remove these leftover installation records. You can do this using either of the following methods:

  1. Download and run the official Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter (available from Microsoft Support).

  2. Select Uninstalling when prompted.

  3. Look for SeaDrive in the list of programs. If you find it, select it and let the tool automatically clean up the broken installation records.

After that, you can try to reinstall SeaDrive 3.0.21 or 3.0.22.

Thanks a lot for advise. It helped.

For those who might find it useful in solving similar problems.

1 Step - Download Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter (for Windows 10)

2 Step - Find the Product Code with PowerShell
get-wmiobject -class win32_product | where-object { $_.Name -like “SeaDrive*”}

3 Step - Delete the app. Select the “Not Listed” option and insert the previously found Product Code.

Hi, could you confirm the exact Windows Server 2025 build/version installed on the machine? If possible, please share a screenshot of the error message as well.

This information will help us investigate the compatibility issue and determine why the installer is detecting the operating system incorrectly.

After deleting using the above method, I was able to successfully reinstall 3.0.22. So I couldn’t reproduce the error that occurred.
