Folder and File Size Display for Syncing Client

Hi everyone,

I’d like to submit a feature request that could significantly improve specific workflow. Currently, the syncing client does not provide a way to view folder or file sizes, and this can be challenging for some use case, especially when syncing extremely large folders.

While I understand that this feature is available in the SeaDrive client, the interaction between both solutions on the same endpoint—in combination with the behavior of Creative Cloud—makes it impractical for them to use both clients simultaneously. Additionally, using the SeaDrive client has been problematic for remote users, leading to frequent sync issues when workload heavily involves video and graphic files editing and jumping between different project.

Implementing a folder and file size display directly within the sync client would greatly enhance functionality and usability, especially for users managing large data sets.

Thanks and keep up the amazing work!

I don’t quite understand your request.

After syncing a library to local, the size of the folders and files are displayed by the operating systems file browser.

Hy Daniel,
No, the issue is to know the size of a folder inside a librairy that is not synced yet.
The folders are big enough to sometimes saturate the local disk on users endpoints. Hence, if a user prepare his sync for the day after, it can fail to sync during the night.

The users are all remote and doing high definition graphic and video editing.

The goal is to be able to know the size of said folder, so the users can have confidence that local sync will have enough space for it.

Thanks a lot for your reply

We have a plan to enable showing of folder size in a folder details dialog in version 13.0, when extended metadata feature turn on.

You can try then.

Excellent! Thank you for the follow up!
