How can I adjust the logo that is being sent with a link

Please see below a screenhost of the preview logo from a link in the MacOS whatsapp App when I paste an upload link.

Where can I change the seafile logo to my personal logo?

You can customize the Seafile branding logo through Seahub customization. The documented settings are:

  • add your logo file to the custom/ directory
  • set LOGO_PATH = 'custom/mylogo.png' in seahub_settings.py
  • adjust LOGO_WIDTH and LOGO_HEIGHT if needed

If you mean the image shown in the Seafile site header, this is the supported way to change it. If you mean the preview image shown by WhatsApp when you paste or share the link, that may be handled separately by WhatsApp preview metadata, so please let us know which one you want to change.

I do indeed mean the preview image shown by for example WhatsApp.

I added another example below.

The files

login-bg.jpg
mylogo.png
favicon.ico

are the correct adjusted files and logos that I set up on the Admin Settings Panel.
And these work correctly in the browser.

Also in the MacOS Mail.app there are automatic thumbnails for link creations which use the Seafile logo and color code instead of the adjusted colours and logo.

For an upload link the following fixed it for me:

Drop a logo file at seahub-data/custom/apple-touch-icon.png

Add the following line in seahub_settings.py
APPLE_TOUCH_ICON_PATH = 'custom/apple-touch-icon.png'

That at least covers the Mail.app and whatsapp thumbnails i looked at above.

I am not sure if more settings need to be adjusted for other OS.
