memory leak in mac sea drive client 3.0.12
after rebooting, one day without any upload download operations, it uses 5GB RAM again, looks it is quite easy to reproduce.
Hello @ailantian,
could you please send us the Seadrive logs? You can right-click the tray icon and select ‘Open Logs Folder’ to access them. This will help us analyze the issue in more detail. You can send the logs to support@seafile.com.
Thank you Feiniks:
just send the logs by email, it is quite easy to reproduce in several hours. there is no need for any operation, just reboot and waiting. it keeps growing. and eats all memory and uses many gigabytes swaps
Checked the logs, looks only cache operations.
Is that because seafile caches the files in memory instead of disk? but my cache size was set to 1GB, it shouldn’t be that large.
Dear Seafile
Do you have any update on it? for now I need to reboot my laptop every 6 hours.
The Seadrive client is almost unusable.
Hello @ailantian ,
This issue may have been caused by cache cleanup. For now, you can temporarily resolve it by increasing the cache size limit and extending the cache cleanup interval. We will fix this issue in the next release.
@feiniks
Thanks Feniks, which size is suggested? I mean which size won’t have this leak problem.
Hello @ailantian,
You can currently set the limit as high as possible to avoid SeaDrive performing cache cleanup, which should prevent any memory leak issues.
Hi Feiniks:
Sure, Thanks for your suggestion, hope this can be fixed soon.
Thanks
Hello @ailantian,
This issue is expected to be fixed in version 3.0.15.
