Hi Team,

I’m a user and administrator of Seafile. I’d like to ask a few questions about the release cycle and next version plan:

  1. When is the next major/minor version (after 13.0) expected to be released?

    Is there a rough timeline or roadmap we can refer to?

  2. What is the typical interval between major versions and minor versions?

    From past announcements, I noticed major versions come roughly once a year, and minor versions every ~3 months. Could you confirm the official release cadence?

  3. Technical details I’d like to clarify:

    • How long does a new minor version usually stay in beta before stable release? (I saw it’s about 2 weeks before; is this still the case?)

    • Will there be any changes in the version numbering scheme or update policy (e.g., upgrade compatibility, database changes, Docker deployment changes) in upcoming versions?

    • Are there any planned major features or architectural changes for the next major release we can know in advance?

I really miss a detailed description of the planned features. The brief, bullet-point-style descriptions are largely meaningless. I also think it would be helpful if small preview screenshots with descriptions were released on an ongoing basis so that the community has an opportunity to provide feedback even during the development process.
