one-way synchronization

Hello everyone! How can I sync files with the server so that local files are uploaded to the server as the most current?

I haven’t synced files with the server for a long time and have been working locally, but now I need to sync them so that they are uploaded to the server as the most current.

When I click the “synchronize now” button, the files are downloaded from the server, not the other way around.

It seems you’re encountering an issue where your local files are more current than those on the server, but when you attempt to synchronize, the server’s files are downloaded instead of your local files being uploaded.

To ensure your local, more current files are uploaded to the server, you should use the “Sync with an existing folder” feature. This process will merge your local files with the library on the server. No files will be overwritten or lost. However, if there are differences, meaning both local files and server files have been changed, conflict files will be created for you to resolve.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Right-click on the library in your Seafile client’s main window.
  2. Click “Sync this library.”
  3. In the pop-up dialog, click the “Sync with an existing folder” link.
  4. Then, choose the existing local folder that contains your more current files to sync with this library.

If the library is already synced, and you are experiencing issues with the synchronization direction, you might consider unsyncing and then immediately re-syncing the library with your existing local folder. This can often resolve internal client errors that might be blocking the correct sync behavior.

Thank you for answer. I chose “Sync this library" but i didn’t work. It worked only server to laptop. I decided to copy files manually.
