SeaDrive Sync Error without showing an Error in the app?

Hey there,
since the new MacOS Versions SeaDrive has a lot of sync error unfortunately. Today we encountered another bug, which did not throw an error:

  • Certain Files in a Folder called “Links” are not synced to the client.
  • When Adding a New Folder in “Links”, it get synced to the SeaFile Server (checked via Web)
  • When trying to download all files of the parent folder of “Links” by clicking on the Cloud-Icon in the Finder I’ll get the following error: NSFileProviderErrorDomain Code=-2005
  • No error is shown when checking via the seaDrive Icon in the MacOS-Bar on the top right

Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks Florian

Which version of macOS and SeaDrive do you use?

Sonoma 14.6.1 and SeaDrive 3.0.8. and 3.0.9 (.9 didnt fix it)

You can upgrade to 3.0.11 and resync the account to see whether it fixes the issues.

Hey Jonathan, thanks! We’ll try!
Is the resync mandatory?

Yes it’s suggested. The problem maybe caused by old metadata database that’s not removed on account removal. A resync should remove the old database.

Hi,
I’m in MacOS 14.7, seadrive 3.0.11

I tried to resync the accounts but failed.
A error message in pop-up says :
Failed to connect to background process, please try again later.

I checked the seadrive-gui.log, there is a looooooot of error messages … see in attachment

Thank for your help.

First, reboot your Mac and see if it connects.

If it fails, you might try this: Quit SeaDrive, completely uninstall it (using a program like AppCleaner or App Cleaner & Unistaller), reboot, install a fresh copy of SeaDrive Client 3.0.11 and see if you can login and sync all your Libraries.

In my experience it can be a bit tweaky and tedious but it will fix. Expect to reboot several times.

Good luck!

You can open Finder and click the SeaDrive entry in the left pane. Sometime you have to access the SeaDrive cache folder to activate the system extension.

Hi.
It’s seems to be good after several reboot.
Thanks
