Seafile CE Server 11 on Proxmox LXC Ubuntu

Is Seafile really not designed to be used within a LXC on Proxmox without Docker? I have spent good time and not able to get it to work.

sh file to run seafile server runs but seahub doesn’t. Which is ‘okay’ but if I create a new remote directory in Mac to connect to seafile server, it fails to authenticate. Part of me tells me seafile server isn’t working properly.

Is there up to date guide on how to get Seafile 11 to work using binary without Docker in Ubuntu?

OS is Ubuntu 22.04 LXC.

  1. Used a guide to configure MSQL and than run ./seafile…mysql, didn’t work
  2. Recreated LXC and went with vanilla with no configuration to database, no luck.

Binary packages is deprecated in version 12 and will be removed in version 13 for community edition.

So please use docker image instead.

This is what I’ve been reading. I don’t understand why is it so difficult to get it work version 11 in Ubuntu 22.04
