Seafile Client and Viber conflict?

On one of my PCs (Windows 10 Pro 22H2) there is a conflict between Viber Desktop (21.3.0) and the SeaFile client (v.9.0.4). When you start Viber, multiple messages like this appear in the log file:

[11/08/23 15:00:40] seaf_pipe failed to connect socket: 10055
[11/08/23 15:00:40] [Job Manager] pipe error: No error
[11/08/23 15:00:40] Failed to schedule check local locked files

or sometimes

[11/08/23 15:10:02] seaf_pipe failed to connect socket: 10048
[11/08/23 15:10:02] [Job Manager] pipe error: No error
[11/08/23 15:10:02] Failed to schedule check local locked files

Seafile synchronization does not occur at all (or is very difficult) until Viber is unloaded. Moreover, on other PCs with the same version of Windows and the same versions of Viber and Seafile, a similar error does not occur.

I’m looking for any ideas how to solve my problem…

Hello @Maxim_Malencoff , this error should be due to Viber taking up too many ports, causing seafile to have no ports available.
You can try to increase the number of ports available on windows, the default number of ports available on windows is 5000. You can try to modify this according to this Microsoft document:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/biztalk/technical-guides/settings-that-can-be-modified-to-improve-network-performance

Unfortunately it does not solve my problem :frowning:
I’ve set both tcp and udp values to 1025-64511 with no success

There are a few things you can try to resolve this conflict:

  1. Update Viber Desktop and the SeaFile client to the latest versions. Both Viber Desktop and the SeaFile client are actively developed, and new versions are released regularly. It is possible that a recent update has introduced a bug that is causing the conflict between the two programs.
  2. Try disabling Viber Desktop’s background processes. Viber Desktop runs a number of background processes, even when the program is not actively in use. These background processes may be interfering with the SeaFile client. To disable Viber Desktop’s background processes, follow these steps:
  3. Open Viber Desktop and click the three horizontal lines in the top left corner of the window.
  4. Select Settings.
  5. Click the Advanced tab.
  6. Under Background processes, uncheck the box next to Run Viber in the background.
  7. Click OK to save your changes.
  8. Try reinstalling Viber Desktop and the SeaFile client. If you have tried all of the above and the problem persists, you may need to reinstall Viber Desktop and the SeaFile client. This will overwrite any corrupted files and reset any corrupted settings.

If you are still having problems, you can contact the SeaFile support team for assistance.
