Seafile in Docker - 502 Bad gateway after a certain time

Hi

I am running Seafile in Docker for the first time.
Generally all works great.
I am using a Contabo VPS with Ubuntu 22.04.05 LTS.

When I reboot the server, the Seafile Docker image starts automatically and becomes available on the Web.

Since a short time, it seems that something hangs itself up somehow though.

Sometimes I get the error 502 - Bad Gateway.

This gets solved by rebooting the server.

But I wonder why that’s required, and how the Docker Program can start “freezing”.

Does someone know how to help me with debugging this?

Any error messages in the seafile logs? Is the container still running? You can do “docker ps” to list running containers.

The error 502 is one of the reverse proxies saying it can’t reach the next step upstream (either the next reverse proxy, or the end service like seahub).
