Seafile share/download link not working in Windows Explorer

Hi all - I’m running Seafile CE 6.0.7 on a Windows 10 PC. I have a Windows 10 laptop and just upgraded to the 7.0.7 client. I used to be able to right click on a file, select the Seafile option, and then select a share or download link which would be generated in a separate pop-up window. For some reason, this has decided to stop working. If I log into Seafile via the web view, I can access all files and generate the download/share link that way, but really prefer to do so from Windows Explorer. Any ideas why this might not be working? I have not tried completely uninstalling/reinstalling the client, but can try that…just not sure if there’s any kind of log I could view (either on the client or server) that might narrow down the issue.

Thanks!

Jason

Do you get an error when you try? If so, what is the error?

This may be a very old thread, but I just had the same problem. The popup to generate a share link would not appear whatever I do when right clicking the file. I fixed it by opening the Seafile Client main window, and select ‘Resync this library’ when right clicking the library that gave me the problems. After that the popup from Windows Explorer works again as intended.

Since I was looking for a fix (in 2025 ) this may be useful for anyone having the same problem in the future…
