Hi,
I am trying to use Seafile in my company with the purpose of working together with centralised files at the same time within Revit. I am trying to get it to work but i dont really get the job done. We work with local server and seadrive on each computer.
Is there anything in the settings or how we set it up to fix so that this works flawlessly?
What is working, and what isn’t? Are you getting any errors?
Hi, one issues was that Revit wanted to create a duplicate and not work in the central file. Dont know if the problem can be that the placement for the clientdrive is not in the exact same place fow all the computers so the link to the files are different for each person working?
Does Revit require the files are in the same path? I’m not familiar with Revit. But if you’re on Windows, you can upgrade to 3.0.16 and it allows users to choose the sync root folder name when they login an account for the first time.
Note that if you have already accounts in the client, you have to uninstall the SeaDrive client. When you’re prompted to remove account information, just choose yes. That will clear the current account info and allow you to choose the sync root folder name again.
The sync root folder path is something like: $PROFILE\seadrive_root\{sync root folder name you choose}\.
If you ask all your users to choose the same sync root folder name, and if the library is shared to all users, it should appear in a path like $PROFILE\seadrive_root\{sync root folder name you choose}\Shared with me\{library name}\, which may be accepted by Revit as the same path.
