AppImage is just complicated: previously there was a repo that you used to update your client. Now I have to check for myself whether there are any updates. And then you must create new symlinks to it.
No, after your (must have) Docker at server (in my eyes: desaster), now I’m leaving Seafile. I wish an installation, where I have on the server full control and the clients will have a repo, where the package is installed and updated, without extra tasks.
Nobody who is IT-savvy likes to be patronized when it comes to the design, handling or management of software. Those guys are searching alternatives.
I’ve found now a server software ocis - even if it is structured similarly to an AppImage, but I’ve the a choice, as Docker deployment or Image - and also the client can be installed and updated from the repo (and If I like installed as AppImage, but I don’t like this).
So take care, you won’t torture me anymore.
