Why is files that I delete not deleted?

Hi

I have noticed that if I delete a file ith then ends up in ‘Trash’ which is somewhat ok, but if I then empty the Trash, the file is not deleted from the disk.

How can I ensure that the file is deleted ?

Thanks

To ensure that files are completely deleted in Seafile after you have emptied the Trash, follow these steps:

  1. Check Your Library History Settings: Verify the settings related to file history and versions in Seafile. Sometimes, files may not be permanently deleted if the version history is retained for too long. Adjust these settings to minimize version history retention if necessary; this can help in ensuring files do not linger unnecessarily on disk.
  2. Run Garbage Collection (GC): Seafile has a garbage collection feature that can help remove orphaned files that are no longer needed. You can manually run the GC to clean up the storage. This operation helps in removing unwanted data that might still be present in your system. Refer to the Seafile manual for instructions on how to utilize garbage collection effectively.
