We’ve been using Seafile for a few weeks now and are very satisfied. Most of our users are on Macs. Two users are on Windows, and we’ve noticed something we first can’t explain. In very rare cases, Mac users create a new folder, save a file in it, and it disappears shortly afterward. We can see in the logs or version history that this file was deleted by a Windows Seadrive user, even though that user was never in that folder. Our research suggests this is a design flaw because Windows thinks the folder is empty and therefore deletes the file. It’s quite risky to have Windows and Mac users working together on the same Seadrive library. My question is, are there any plans to secure Seadrive on Windows in a way that prevents this strange behavior? We know it has something to do with Windows VFS and Windows Explorer, but if this issue were resolved, Seafile would be an ideal solution.

Hello Daniel,
I will send the logs in a private message
Thanks for the log.
We have identified the cause of the issue. It seems that it is related to the file being deleted and added again in a short time.
We will fix it in version 3.0.22.
