SeaDrive 3 and later versions can manage multiple accounts for Seafile servers - this is practical with/in MacOS, but only theoretically with/in Windows 11.
In MacOS (version 15 / Sequioa) I can register and use multiple SeaFile accounts.
This should also work in Windows 11. But after many attempts, I have not yet succeeded: neither on a laptop with the latest Win11 nor in a VM with Win 11 under MacOS.
Both have the same problem: when installing SeaDrive 3, only the access (account) for one Seafile server is requested. Once the file list for this account has been loaded, you cannot enter another account. In Explorer, the library for this first Seafile server is available. The file list is also kept up to date without errors. No abnormal behaviour.
But there is no app, neither in the app directory nor in the taskbar, to access any functions: so no triggering a new sync, no stopping, no adding another account.
I reinstalled the SeaDrive client several times, first removing all ‘traces’ of SeaDrive, including manually in the registry.
Is SeaDrive in the latest version 3.x actually compatible with Win 11?
Does anyone have a tip for me on how to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Hello @ReinerD , what’s the meaning of you cannot enter another account? Can you show a screenshot ?
On MacOS, there is a SeaDrive icon in the taskbar (at the top of the screen on MacOS). If I click on it, a pop-up window with a menu appears in which I can access various functions; including a function for storing or selecting additional accounts.
Other functions that can be selected via the pop-up menu include ‘Settings’, ‘Log folder’, ‘File errors during synchronisation’…
This SeaDrive icon should also be available in the taskbar (at the bottom of the screen) in Windows 11. Unfortunately, however, it is not available for me. This means that I cannot take a screenshot because what I want to capture is not even available…
By the way: I have now seen exactly the same error (missing icon / missing functions) on other PCs/laptops with Win11.
The functions that I’m missing (icon to access the other functions, such as creating/selecting additional accounts) are described in the SeaDrive documentation here under ‘Account Management’:
https://help.seafile.com/drive_client/drive_client_for_win10/
My conclusion: SeaDrive 3.x has a bug when installed on Win11.
Hello @ReinerD , on Windows 11, some tray icons are hidden by default. You can click the “^” arrow in the bottom-right corner of the taskbar to check if the icon is located there.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness and your efforts.
I am aware that Win 11 groups (‘^’) apps that would otherwise no longer have a place in the taskbar. Unfortunately, only the shortcut to start the service for the file list of the one configured account can be found there. Clicking on it only results in the response that the ‘SeaDrive’ service has already been started.
This is the case on all three laptops/PCs/VMs with Win 11. So I have to assume that there is a bug in SeaDrive 3.x. There was no older version of SeaDrive 3.x on all three devices with Win 11. In all cases it was a ‘clean’ installation of SeaDrive 3.x. And on one device I had uninstalled SeaDrive several times, as already written, deleted all directories, emptied the recycle bin, cleaned the registry, rebooted and downloaded SeaDrive 3.0.13 (latest version) and installed it again. Always the same result…
Hello @ReinerD , can you show a screenshot of the shortcut? And you can find the seadrive’s log in C:\Users{user}\seadrive\logs, please check seadrive.log and seadrive-gui.log to find more details.

In the other logfiles there’s nothing abnormal…
Hello @ReinerD , you can right-click the tray icon in the bottom right corner, and then you’ll be able to add other accounts.
Strange. I tried this veryoften. I never got a context menue in a popup window. But this time! I had to wait roughly a second, then the popup window showed up.
MANY THANKS!!!
